Project Research Physician

Job Profile:

The position holder will be mainly responsible for Conducting scientific research into public health issues; Work with PI in developing proposals; Search literature and data analysis; Implement research protocols with the objective of generating knowledge from research evidence within the strategy of centre and organizational values. The major areas of responsibilities may include but not limited to: 

• Understand research protocol and plan to provide expected support to implement the study;
• Check the quality of data, the data collection and referral process of the study;
• Make weekly plan following the study protocol on how to check all records of enrolled study clients
• Prepare Weekly updates detailing the quality of the study work done as per protocol and share it with Principal Investigator;
• Identify patients to enroll in the study;
• Carry out physical examination and record detailed patient history;
• Request and administer biological tests, Interpret test results;
• Consult and coordinate with other physicians and nurses for patient management;
• Follow-up as per predefined protocol to review response to intervention;
• Document all patient information;
• Take consent and enroll study participants;
• Perform proper monitoring and evaluation to ensure quality research;
• Prepare and keep records of participants enrollment/tracking, data and specimen collection, and quality control reports;
• Supervise data collection, specimen collection, time to time data compilation in order to execute activities in accordance with research protocol.
• Train new doctors in basic rules and procedures followed at icddr,b;
• Prepare and present reports on certain cases, incidents, initiatives etc. ;
• Mentor young professionals and prepare them for higher responsibilities;

Requirements:

Education and Relevant Experience:

• MBBS degree with valid BMDC registration
• Experience in relevant field will be preferred.

Functional/Technical Competencies:

• Clinical Management;
• Data/Sample Collection Methods, Documentation and record keeping;
• Good knowledge on Scientific Research
• Ethical Guidelines;
• Health System in Bangladesh;
• Field Activities Management and Training Facilitation;
• IT systems and Standard Applications (i.e: MS Office) and/or Smart Phone/Tab/PDA/GPS.
