In 2020 alone, Welthungerhilfe supported about 14.3 million people with its 539 overseas projects in 35 countries. In real terms, that means: Many people now harvest more and can therefore improve their diets. They now have clean drinking water or toilets at home, which leaves them less susceptible to illness. Others are earning or producing more and can begin an education. For the children, Welthungerhilfe’s support means a chance of improved physical and mental development. Welthungerhilfe bases its efforts on the principle of help for self-help, which it implements with measures ranging from rapid disaster relief to rehabilitation to long-term development cooperation projects with national and international partner organisations.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall financial management and control of the projects, producing financial forecasts and verifying budgets vs. actual on regular basis, including final verification of partner budgets and disbursement of community cash grants. This also includes ensuring dedicated capacity development for partners on financial management including policy and SOP development, technical trainings, and ongoing support of partner staff.
• Provide logistics management of the project, ensuring that the procurement and delivery of items are done in timely and effective manner in line with the WHH regulations. This also includes ensuring dedicated capacity development for partners on logistics and procurement including policy and SOP development, technical trainings, and ongoing support of partner staff.
• Coordinate with implementing partner(s) to support them in the implementation of projects and to ensure timely delivery of project outputs.
• Supervise Partnership Capacity Support Officers and support them in their day-to-day work.
• Ensure project management framework and project management platforms Promis Fundpro and Project Management Framework are kept up to date on a monthly basis
• Be responsible for the management and implementation of dedicated localization project with national partners, in line with project scope and donor regulations.
• Work with MEAL team to analyze key data linked to project outputs and quality. This also includes ensuring dedicated capacity development for partners on MEAL topics including policy and SOP development, technical trainings, and ongoing support of partner staff.
• Ensure project reports are properly produced and submitted to relevant parties and output trackers are updated in coordination with the MEAL officers.
• Oversee and actively coordinate engagement with local partners to ensure regular reporting, planning, and review of partner activities, capacity strengthening plans and processes.
• Manage Human Resources of the project in coordination with the HR Department to ensure that all the positions are filled in line with the project budgets, the staff contracts and trainings.
• Recruit and manage external consultants to plan and facilitate technical trainings on capacity development topics jointly agreed with WHH and partners. It includes development of TORs, liaison with Logistics on service contracting of consultants, review and support of training material development, and coordination of learning events with partners and WHH staff.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of labor discipline, labor protection and safety rules, fire-prevention requirements, industrial sanitation, and labor hygiene rules.
• Knowledge of Survivor and Community Led Response (SCLR) or other community led response mechanisms
• Social skills and ability to work in a team.
• 1 to 2 years’ professional experience of project management
• Fluency in English to support internal and external verbal and written engagement
