Qatar Red Crescent is a voluntary charitable organization, was founded in March 1978. QRC has been internationally recognized in 1981 by the ICRC in Geneva and joined the IFRC in the same year.
Scope of Work:
The Projects Officer plays a vital role at QRCS, contributing significantly to the planning, execution, and management of projects within humanitarian or development frameworks. This pivotal position entails providing technical expertise, support, and guidance to vulnerable populations, aiming to enhance their access to secure and sustainable solutions, livelihood opportunities, and economic recovery. Close collaboration with communities, local authorities, partner organizations, and various stakeholders is integral to ensuring the successful implementation of projects and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Strategic:
- Supporting preparing the proposals and reports to donors.
- Attendance and participation the cluster and TWG meetings.
- Commitment of QRCS principles and mentality.
- Confirming team members Commitment of QRCS principles and mentality.
- Developing scientific, technical, and social self-capacity.
- Sharing knowledge and experience with community and colleagues.
Operational:
- Overseeing the preparation of technical specifications for both direct and indirect equipment and materials as required.
- Monitoring the implementation of project activities in collaboration with the field QRCS team.
- Developing and ensuring the execution of comprehensive weekly and monthly plans for project activities, emphasizing high-quality outcomes.
- Effectively managing project staff, overseeing day-to-day operations, work plans, training programs, and conducting regular appraisals and performance reviews.
- Facilitating regular meetings with the project team to ensure consistent information sharing on project performance.
- Validating the selection criteria mechanism for targeted beneficiaries.
- Verifying the quality of project materials to uphold specified standards.
- Coordinating with the logistics team to ensure timely delivery of materials as per the project plan.
- Collaborating with the Media team to enhance project communication and outreach.
- Providing detailed progress reports to the Programme Coordinator.
- Periodically updating project indicators and progress.
- Offering proactive suggestions to support ongoing project development.
- Demonstrating a positive and engaging attitude when interacting with beneficiaries.
- Compiling comprehensive and timely periodical reports.
- Supplying regular updates on progress and challenges to supervisors and team members.
- Ensuring the integration of persons with disabilities (PWDs) across all project aspects, including monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
- Participate in creating draft project proposals upon request.
Education and Experience:
- BSc in Civil / Agriculture engineering, and any other related field. equalized certifications in the same sectors are accepted – MSc degree is preferred.
- Previous experience in FSL and ER projects and Programmes with 3-5 years, preferably within the NGO sector.
- Proficiency in project cycle management, including project design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Familiarity with the Syrian context and related cross border support.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and multicultural teams.
- Advanced Computer skills & MS office.
- Field work and work under pressure ability.
- Knowledge of participatory approaches, community engagement, and capacity-building techniques.
- Fluent Arabic speaker with proficiency in English (both spoken and written), and Turkish language skills are a plus.
