1. Description:
A360 is requesting quotations for proofreading and editing services for a range of technical documents and materials. The selected candidate(s) will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and consistency of A360s written content, including all external-facing communications assets. The independent consultant will collaborate closely with the communications manager to maintain high-quality standards and uphold A360 brand voice.
2. Responsibilities of the Consultant
- Proofread and edit documents for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting errors
- Ensure consistency in style, tone, and terminology across all written materials, following US English conventions
- Provide suggestions for improving clarity, coherence, and overall quality of written content
- Collaborate with the A360 team to address any issues or concerns regarding the content
- Meet deadlines and deliver high-quality proofread documents in a timely manner
- Return edited document in track changes mode, plus a clean copy (changes accepted).
3. Requirements and Experience:
- Proven experience as a proofreader or editor, preferably in the development sector
- Excellent command of English language, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify errors and inconsistencies in written content
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills and ability to provide constructive feedback
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and other editing software is preferred
4. Reporting and supervision:
The consultant will report to the Communications Manager, A360.
5. Financial Proposal
Provide a competitive rate to perform the assignment (Proofreading and Editing Per Word) inclusive all the chargeable taxes in KES or USD.
