We’re on the lookout for someone who can bring their energy and expertise to the table, working under the guidance of our Property Acquisition Supervisor. Your role will be like no other – from analyzing property titles to orchestrating escrow magic, and even crunching financial numbers with flair – you’ll do it all!

Duties:

Here is what you will be doing, 

  • Manage the personal services contracts for property acquisitions and disposals state-wide.
  • Investigates properties for acquisition or disposal state-wide.
  • Coordinates and performs closings for acquisitions state-wide.
  • Assist with development of maps, Commission presentation proposals, and review of data and inquiries provided by regions.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work Setting, including hazards:
    • Work roughly 90% of time in an office or telework setting. 
    • Hazards may include, sitting or standing for long periods at a time at a desk in front of a computer while typing or writing.
    • Hazards associated with driving on the roads and maneuvering over uneven terrains. 
    • Approx. 10% of the time conducting site inspections.
  • Schedule:
    • Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Travel Requirements:
    • Travel to and from site inspections as assigned. 
    • Assignments may involve overnight travel.
  • Tools and Equipment:
    • Computer, cell phone; shared use of printer and scanner.
  • Customer Interactions:
    • Attending meetings and responding to phone calls, emails, and written correspondence from contractors and landowners.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor’s degree involving major study in business or public administration, real estate, economics, accounting, park planning, wildlife management, forestry, or related field.

AND 

  • Two (2) years of experience involving real estate transaction processes and ownership transactions and appraising real property.

OR 

  • One (1) year of experience as a Property and Acquisition Specialist 3.

Closely related qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-by-year basis.

Certifications/Licenses: 

  • Valid driver’s license

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

In addition to those required qualifications, our ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following: 

  • Ability to read and interpret maps, surveys, and legal descriptions.
  • Project management experience demonstrating ability to effectively prioritize multiple issues and tasks.
  • Knowledge of appraisal processes and requirements.
  • Knowledge of title research and escrow procedures.
  • Knowledge of federal and state grant programs for land acquisition.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office suite of software.
  • Proven ability to effectively present ideas and concepts to a variety of customers.
  • Experience with land conservation at a government agency or a Land Trust.
