Where you come in:

Initially a full time, contract role (six months +) and based at our Head Office in Carlton, Melbourne, you will be accountable for the end-to-end management of our sizeable property footprint, including general office locations, program delivery locations and retail stores. The role covers property planning, full lifecycle management (identified need, establishment, maintenance, closure) and relevant compliance obligations.

The role will partner with key leaders to ensure our properties meet business needs, while continuously enhancing the quality and accessibility of our workplaces.

A key part of the role is ensuring the right structures and processes to move from a reactive to a proactive approach to property portfolio management.

You will be part of our Group Operations team, reporting to the Head of Group Risk & Operations.

You will make an impact by:

  • Proactively managing the property portfolio to reduce costs, optimise employee experience and ensure it is right-sized for business need.
  • Ensuring the right processes and controls are in place for all leased properties, including: evergreen leasing agreements, effective forward planning on property condition reports and maintenance, accurate and current data profile for every property, regular and appropriate engagement with key stakeholders (landlords, agents, internal stakeholders)
  • Ensure an appropriate property maintenance and compliance regime in partnership with key operational leaders
  • Establish and maintain client centric listening processes to ensure major workplaces at Save (state, regional offices, retail stores) are meeting the needs of our people
  • Partner effectively with SCA’s retail leadership and operations team to ensure the retail property portfolio is well managed, has a clear and evergreen plan that identifies and capitalises on opportunities while mitigating financial and regulatory risk
  • Partner with business leaders, Health & Safety to ensure efficient and effective facilities management across the portfolio, including management of any third party facilities or other suppliers as appropriate
  • Regular reporting to the Executive team on portfolio opportunities (cost savings, footprint optimisation, team connection etc).
  • Fostering suitable advisory and service partnerships to support our property goals

You have the ability to multi task but stay focused and calm and manage key stake holders in a professional & effective manner. You are friendly and approachable and have a ‘can- do’ attitude. You want to make a difference to your team, colleagues and the children who use our spaces.

This role requires:

  • Relevant Property Management Accreditation
  • Experience in working with commercial/retail industry
  • Good awareness of OHS legislation and a strong ability to collaborate with OHS reps to ensure our premises comply with all relevant workplace safety regulations
  • Some experience and knowledge of property markets in Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Solomon Island (not essential however be prepared and eager to learn)
