Express Recruitment are working on behalf of a UK leading engineering consultancy in Nottingham who have received multiple accolades for their dedication to automation & material handling solutions. Due to steady and continued financial growth, our client is actively seeking a commercially astute and design orientated Proposals Engineer to work alongside their Sales and Development Engineering departments.In return our client offering a competitive starting salary of up to c£40,000 plus various other benefits including annual bonus and employee assistance programme.Roles & Responsibilities

• Consult frequently with customers to understand their stringent requirements and develop concept products and prototype designs based on your findings
• Develop detailed concepts and costings with reference to previous work undertaken and produce detailed technical proposals and bids
• Work closely with the Development and Manufacturing departments to maintain an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of advanced manufacturing techniques within automation
• Work across various projects simultaneously, ensuring each are delivered within the specified timeframes
• Read and interpret complex engineering and CAD machine diagrams that include layouts for electro-mechanical systems, conveyors, and special purpose equipment
• Monitor budgets against project costs and ensure they are delivered within the specified financial constraints

Skills & Qualifications

• Degree qualified in mechanical, electrical, or similar engineering discipline
• Demonstrable mechanical design experience
• Proficient user of Solidworks 2D & 3D and other CAD packages
• Previous experience of working with special purpose, material handling and automation equipment strongly desirable
• Previous shop floor experience ideal, with applied knowledge of milling, turning, grinding and fabrication processes
• Confident negotiation skills with experience of working with proposals and tenders
