WHAT TO EXPECT

The Propulsion Software, Calibration & Controls Department supports JLR’s objective of delivering clean and efficient products to our customers. Our team works alongside internal and external software teams who develop and deploy control software, maximising the benefits of new propulsion technologies through a short time to market.

As a Control Integration Chapter Lead you will engage with teams across engineering to robustly deliver Propulsion software led technologies. The Issues Management Chapter is responsible for refining, deploying and governing a structured problem solving process across the department as part of JLR’s Technical Excellence framework. You will bring together the latest analytical and Quality techniques to find and fix all issues as early as possible in the engineering development process.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Create and maintain a Capability Roadmap that enables innovative future technologies.
  • Ensure technical excellence by developing processes and tools, and upskilling engineers as technology and methods advance.
  • Capture and document our knowledge and processes in the Chapter’s Body of Knowledge.
  • Drive consistency and efficiency with metrics.
  • Work closely with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to enable true Agile working.
  • Work closely with the other Chapter leads to share innovations and best practice.
  • Manage deployment and recruitment of Chapter members into Agile squads to deliver the Product line up.
  • Undertake any other work connected with their role as may be requested by the line manager.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Essential:

  • Engineering degree and/or relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of software control systems and electrified Propulsion/Powertrain systems.
  • Demonstrable experience of developing and implementing processes, tools and learning.
  • Experience of software system issue investigation and structured problem solving (8D, DMAIC).
  • Commitment to wellbeing support for team and colleagues.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
  • Experience of engaging and influencing teams through transformational change.
