Position: Protection specialist

Duty station: Erbil (KRI) with field missions in other governorates

Duration: until December 31st 2024 with 2 months probation. Starting is expecting as soon as possible

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to the management and field staff to assure the quality of the protection services provided;
  • Revise the existing SOPs and work together with the management team to update and/or revise them;
  • Support the management team to draft new SOPs related to protection services/activities if needed;
  • Mentor and supervise the work of the protection teams working in the field, providing them with regular advices, training and capacity building;
  • Supervise the case management services, working in particular with the case management supervisors. This includes regular supervision, case discussions, revision of the CPIMS+ and similar tasks;
  • Analyze the information and data collected by the AAP (Accountability to Affected Population team) and draft regular reports including feedbacks and recommendations;
  • Provide support to AAP team for urgent and complex protection cases
  • Support the program managers and country representative in drafting new project proposal, donors reports, assessment and needs analysis;
  • Prepare and conduct protection trainings in coordination with the program managers both for TDH staff and external stake holders (local CSOs, governmental staff, etc.);
  • Revise and update the curricula used for activities with adults and children;
  • Attend relevant coordination meetings in coordination with the program managers and the country representative;
  • Support the management team with any other duty related to case management supervision.

Requirements

  • Degree in Social Science, Human Rights or related subjects;
  • At least three years of experience in protection related project, better if in technical roles;
  • Very good knowledge of community-based protection;
  • Previous experience in UNHCR funded protection programs is an asset;
  • Previous experience in Middle East;
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken), knowledge of Arabic is preferable
