The USC Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine in the Department of Medicine is seeking a Research Nurse to join our team.
The Research Nurse will be responsible to assist the principal investigator in coordinating all phases of research studies including recruitment, assessment, treatment, data collection and follow-up for enrolled patients. Provides input to principal investigator, staff nurses and patients that effects clinical research studies form the initial protocol design to completion of the study.
Performs basic nursing procedures such as phlebotomy, vital signs, and other tests specific to the study. May administer treatments specific to the study.
Coordinates the collection, processing and transporting of research specimens including packing and shipping to sponsor. Arranges for admission to research center so that blook samples can be obtained.
The hourly rate range for this position is $46.58 – $53 p/hr.

Preferred Education and Experience:
- Phlebotomy Certificate
- R.N. -Bachelor’s degree
- Prior experience, ideally 2 years

- Demonstrated ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Must be highly detail-oriented.
- Work effectively on multiple projects and set priorities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
A strong candidate will have excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills; be dependable, adaptable, and flexible, motivated, a self-starter; able to work both independently and with a team; take initiative; and troubleshoot crises in a fast paced and high-volume work environment with deadline pressures.
