Description

The PSS and MHPSS Service Delivery Coordinator will oversee and manage all activities related to Psychosocial Support (PSS) and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) for Iraqi returnees in Mosul. This role involves providing technical MHPSS support, managing the PSS and MHPSS team, coordinating with relevant stakeholders, and ensuring effective service delivery. The coordinator will also be responsible for case management, follow-up on cases requiring psychotropic medication, and capacity building for the field team.

key Responsibilities:

  Management of PSS and MHPSS Activities:

  • Oversee and coordinate all PSS and MHPSS activities and services for Iraqi returnees.
  • Ensure the effective delivery of PSS and MHPSS services in line with organizational policies and standards.
  • Supervise and manage the PSS and MHPSS team, including Case Managers/Social Workers, Outreach Mobile Workers, PSS Facilitators, Psychiatrist Doctors, and Psychotherapists.

  Case Management and Follow-Up:

  • Provide technical MHPSS support for complex cases, including those requiring psychotropic medication.
  • Monitor and follow up on PSS and MHPSS cases to ensure appropriate and timely intervention.

  Reporting and Coordination:

  • Report to the Program Manager on PSS and MHPSS activities, challenges, and progress.
  • Collaborate with the M&E Officer and Awareness Officer to ensure effective monitoring, evaluation, and awareness efforts.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including the Department of Health (DoH), to enhance service delivery and address any issues.

  Capacity Building and Development:

  • Support the development and implementation of capacity-building initiatives for the PSS and MHPSS field teams.
  • Ensure that all staff are trained and equipped with the necessary skills to deliver high-quality PSS and MHPSS services.

  Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Engage and coordinate with relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community groups, to enhance service delivery and address gaps.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to support collaborative efforts and ensure alignment with community needs.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, or a related field. A master’s degree. or additional qualifications in MHPSS are preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in PSS and MHPSS roles, including at least 3 years in a management position. Experience working with returnees or displaced populations is an asset.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of PSS and MHPSS principles, including case management and psychotropic medication.
    • Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively supervise and support a diverse team.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with various stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement capacity-building initiatives.
    • Experience in monitoring and reporting on program activities.
  • Languages: Proficiency in Arabic and English. Knowledge of Kurdish is an advantage.
  • Other Requirements: Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
