JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Community Service Federal Work-Study Program, in collaboration with Student Leadership and Involvement, seeks undergraduate and graduate students to serve as PSU Votes Ambassadors for spring 2024, summer 2024, and the 2024/25 academic year.

PSU Votes Ambassadors are an important part of Penn State’s nonpartisan PSU Votes program. Ambassadors educate their peers on how to register to vote, voter education, and creating a voting plan. Ambassadors assist with planning, marketing, and implementation of PSU Votes initiatives. This position may assist with researching opportunities, developing programs, and providing brief presentations and workshops. They also provide tabling support and other voter registration and education at events and locations on and off campus along with other duties as assigned.

This position assumes a commitment of 10-12 hours/week. Specific days/hours to be determined upon hire. Starting pay rates for the 2023/24 academic year are $14/hour for undergraduate students and $16/hour for graduate students. Students from all majors are encouraged to apply.

This job requires the following 3 publicly available clearances:

•    PA State Police Criminal Background Check
•    PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form
•    FBI Criminal Background Check.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
