We are Living Streets, the UK charity for everyday walking.
We want to create a nation where walking is the natural choice for everyday, local journeys;
free from congested roads and pollution, reducing the risk of preventable illnesses and social
isolation. We want to achieve a better walking environment and to inspire people of all
generations to enjoy the benefits the simple act of walking brings.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our Policy and Communications
team as Public Affairs and Campaigns Coordinator. You will support Living Streets’ public
affairs, policy and campaigns across the UK, targeting decision makers at all levels of
Government and mobilising supporters to take action on Living Streets issues. This is an
excellent opportunity to push Living Streets’ issues in a busy election year to ensure walking
and wheeling is at the heart of transport policy across our regions and nations.
You will support the roll out of our advocacy strategy and engagement plan to achieve campaign
and organisational objectives. Using your political nous, you will take a proactive approach to
public affairs by undertaking activities such as managing events, stakeholder management,
engagement with decision makers, horizon scanning, and monitoring. You will also coordinate
public-facing campaign activity – developing campaign actions, mobilising supporters and
working with partners to achieve campaign goals.
This is an exciting role, in a dynamic, motivated and friendly team, and you will have an
opportunity to make a real difference in an ambitious campaigning organisation.
