The incumbent provides informational, clerical and programmatic support to the Programme of the Office of Head of Mission under the direct supervision of the Spokesperson and closely co-operates with the Head of Mission, Deputy Head of Mission, Political Officers and National Public Information Officer, as well as with the other international and national Mission Members.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Under the overall supervision of the Mission Spokesperson, the successful candidate will be tasked with the following duties:
Researching, compiling and distributing news sourced from local and international media on subjects relevant to the Mission’s mandate and activities, and providing summaries and analysis of developments;
Performing in-depth research of local and international media, compiling relevant news stories and circulates to colleagues on a daily basis. Using all available open source materials, including livestreams, video reports, audio files, social media and interview transcripts in Romanian, Russian and English;
Following up and researching relevant developments and reports on them in a coherent, informed and balanced manner;
Based on news research preparing and distributing the Mission’s daily News Digest in the Mission’s daily News Digest;
Translating from English into Romanian or Russian and vice versa: on press conferences, oral and written interviews of the HOM, DHOM or the Spokesperson, press releases, public information material;
Providing translation assistance on request, including of press products (news items, press release, media advisories, posts for social media channels, etc), and project documents, and media articles and interviews, where relevant;
Following high-level visits, preparing press clippings of news in English, Russian and Romanian;
Co-ordinating with the OSCE COMMS section in Vienna to upload translated press products on the website;
Other material on request of the HOM, DHOM or the Spokesperson;
Attending press conferences, public meetings and media events relevant for the work of the Mission, and reports in writing to the Spokesperson;
Under the Spokesperson’s supervision, uploading information and photographs on the Mission’s website and social media accounts. Regularly reviewing the Mission’s website and Facebook page and proposing changes to the Spokesperson on necessary updates and improvements;
Receiving newspapers, news from news agencies and websites in English, Russian and Romanian from Moldova (including Transdniestria), Romania, Russia and Ukraine and other OSCE participating states and draws the attention of the supervisor and relevant local and international staff to news relevant for the activity of the Mission;
Recording TV news and analytical programs as well as talk shows relevant for the activity of the Mission;
Logistically and organizationally supports the OSCE promotional events, the public lectures, seminars, receptions and annual events. Arranging for meeting rooms, types and sends agenda and background materials, notifies participants of time, date and prepares draft minutes of those meetings for the supervisor’s consideration, and distribute the final reports;
Administrating the public information material of the Mission and ensures its availability and proper distribution;
Uploading information on the Mission’s website;
Arranging annual Mission’s subscriptions to Moldovan and international press, including preparing and uploading procurement requests;
Maintaining the Mission’s roster of photographers/cameramen/designers; updating their contracts on annual basis; contacting them prior to events in close co-ordination with other Mission Units as well as prepares payment requests;
Being responsible for filing all press office documents and products, and maintaining and updating press office files;
Providing technical and logistical assistance for press office events and outreach activities, press conferences and press briefings, including contacting participants, reviewing project documents relating to implementation (i.e. budgets, agendas and schedules), handling travel arrangements for the Press Office staff and non-OSCE officials;
Administrating the public information material of the Mission and ensuring its availability and proper distribution;
Assisting in the implementation and co-ordination of projects;
Working on enquiries, budget calculation and project technical liaison;
Gathering and filing the project information;
Ensuring and assisting technical coordination, procurement flow and technical assistance at all project levels;
Performing other related duties as requested.

Necessary Qualifications:
Minimum 4 years experience in public information or as translator interpreter with an international organization or in a media related field;
Computer literate with practical knowledge of Microsoft office;
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, Romanian and Russian;
Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, and an ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities;
Ability and willingness to work as a member of team, with people of different cultural, and religious backgrounds, different gender, and diverse political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity;
Computer literate with practical experience using Microsoft applications.
Remuneration Package:
Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deduction is EUR 785.80 OSCE salaries are exempt from taxation in Moldova. Social benefits include participation in the Cigna medical insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund.
