Role Summary:
CRD wishes to hire a qualified Qualitative Public Health practitioner to help develop, implement, and analyse Qualitative Research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and analyse Qualitative research in line with CRD’s strategy and areas of focus, including, but not limited to:
- Design and draft comprehensive proposals and concept notes that adhere to the Terms of Reference (ToR). Ensuring that all proposed activities and objectives are clearly outlined and align with specified guidelines and goals.
- Conduct thorough literature reviews using up-to-date and academic and grey literature resources to inform the development and refinement of data collection and analysis tools.
- Create and refine various research tools, including interview guides, questionnaires and forms, to effectively gather data on the studied variables. Ensure that these tools are tailored to meet the specific needs of the project and targets, and are capable of capturing accurate and relevant data.
- Conduct training sessions for enumerators and data collectors on the use of newly developed tools. Oversee and monitor project implementation in the field, ensuring adherence to protocols and timelines. Proactively identify and address potential challenges to maintain project integrity and quality.
- Effectively coordinate with a multidisciplinary team working on various projects. Share knowledge and experiences to foster a collaborative working environment. Distribute project responsibilities appropriately to leverage team strengths and ensure efficient project progression.
- Analyse qualitative data using a range of methodologies. Employ traditional methods such as content, narrative, thematic, and lived experience analysis, as well as innovative approaches like Photo Voice Visual Dialogue (P-VVD), ethnography, and case studies. Ensure thorough and insightful interpretation of data to inform project outcomes and recommendations.
- Possess substantial experience in utilizing qualitative data analysis programs such as NVivo, Dedoose, and ATLAS.ti. Capable of coding data, employing search queries, visualizing information, and classifying cases to support thorough and effective analysis.
- Have a basic understanding of statistical packages, particularly SPSS. Capable of performing elementary statistical analyses and data management tasks to support qualitative research findings and enhance overall project insights.
- Prepare detailed interim and final reports on project progress, challenges encountered, and lessons learned. Ensure reports are comprehensive, clear, and actionable, providing valuable insights and recommendations for ongoing and future projects.
- Report directly to the Senior Project Lead. Maintain open and effective communication, ensuring timely updates and accurate conveyance of project statuses, insights, and strategic recommendations.
- Perform other tasks assigned by the CEO
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in public health, psychology, anthropology, sociology, or related fields;
- Proven experience (5 years minimum) in research and project implementation, preferably in a multinational company or organization;
- Familiarity with UN standards, frameworks, ethics, and principles;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders;
- Proficiency in English and Arabic (oral and written), French is a plus;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and results-driven approach;
- Understanding of sustainable development principles and commitment to ethical practices;
- Being a published author is a plus.
