The Organization
The John Paul II Foundation, is an non-governmental organization active in Jordan since 2017 where it implements livelihood projects that promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and improved working conditions for the most vulnerable.
FGPII operates in Mafraq, Madaba, Balqa, Jerash, Irbid and Ma’an where it has developed a partnership with women associations, fostering the empowerment and legitimization of women’s role in agricultural work and within the local community through home-based business (HBB) with supplementary income for families.
Project description
The initiative aims to support access to income opportunities and foster the creation of decent work opportunities for the most vulnerable Syrian and Jordanian refugee population, particularly women, youth and persons with disabilities, in the Governorates of Irbid, Zarqa, Russeifah, Tafileh, al-Karak, Mafraq, Balqa, Jerash and Ajloun.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Planning and supervision of the project activities concerning the quality management system of the Home-based business with Aloe Vera products, under the supervision of the FGPII Value Chain Expert, in co-operation with the partners and in close co-ordination with the local authorities
- Definition of QMS tools for the quality management of agricultural associations
- Planning of training on QMS and its application within the HBB
- Definition of training modules and identification of module facilitators
- Accompanying beneficiary associations in the application of the QMS tools
- Preparation, in close co-operation with the project team, of documentation related to project activities: meeting minutes, progress and monitoring, planning of training modules and accompanying visits.
Essential requirements
- University degree or higher in disciplines related to agricultural development (Economics, Agronomy or similar) and/or equivalent experience
- At least 3 years of experience in Development Cooperation projects
- Knowledge of rural farming communities
- Knowledge of English language (written/spoken)
- Excellent knowledge of Office package
- Ability to manage institutional relations
- Ability to work autonomously, by objectives respecting deadlines
- Ability to write and finalize project reports
- Ability to manage emergency and stress situations
- Dynamism, critical spirit, ethical motivation, willingness to confront and change
- Integrity and transparency, maintaining high ethical standards in a manner consistent with FGPII principles and standards of conduct
Preferred requirements
– Previous work experience in rural and economic development or livelihoods
– Knowledge of the Italian language
