Ashton Recruitment require a Quantity Surveyor for our busy client based in Belfast.Position: Quantity SurveyorLocation: BelfastDuration: PermanentRate of Pay: £35,000-£40,000Hours of Work: Monday – Friday 08:00-16:00Duties include (but not limited to): * Prepare, negotiate, and assess costs for tenders and contracts.

• Acquire sub-contractors and compile sub-contractor order documentation.
• Oversee and evaluate variations.
• Aid in generating pre-contract take-off, interim valuations, and final accounts.
• Generate monthly Cost Value Reconciliation reports for contracts.
• Assist the Capital Projects Manager and Projects Director in overseeing projects’ logistical, technical, and commercial aspects to align with overall business goals.
• Support in formulating and monitoring operational and capital annual budgets.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and revision of the client’s Long Term Business Plan.
• Assist the project team in procuring, delivering, and completing projects to achieve desired business outcomes.
• Promote and uphold a culture of exemplary health, safety, and environmental standards across projects and associated contractors.
• Identify and address risks that could impede project delivery or impact the client’s operations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Positively engage with key stakeholders, both internal and external, involved in projects.
• Actively participate in the lessons learned process across all projects and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Flexibility to accommodate any after-hours activities as needed.

Essential Criteria:

• Completion of an HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, coupled with demonstrated expertise in Quantity Surveying.
• Possession of a valid full driving license.
• At least 5 years of proven experience in a Quantity Surveying role.
• Profound understanding of compliance standards and adeptness in achieving regulatory requirements.
• Extensive experience in overseeing cost control throughout construction projects.
• Demonstrated capability in supervisory and people management, including performance evaluation and professional development.
• Track record of effectively managing contractors and consultants.
• Experience in budget management and allocation.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Demonstrating a professional demeanor.
• Effective communication skills.
• Displaying confidence in interactions.
• Willingness to work beyond regular working hours as needed.

Desirable Criteria

• Construction related degree
• Environmental awareness
• Full, current, clean driving licence
• Experience within an airport environment
• Working knowledge of continuous improvement initiatives, performance measures & key performance indicators
• CAA Regulations
