Job Description: Our esteemed client is a well-established subcontract structural steel frame installation specialist, providing comprehensive services across the UK. With a strong pipeline of diverse and exciting projects, they are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team.Key Responsibilities:
– Prepare and/or review tender documents, contracts, sub-contracts, appointment and sub-appointment documents, and bills of quantities.
– Proficiently handle various contract forms, including JCT D&B, management contracting, and NEC, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks.
– Efficiently manage project costs from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to budgets and financial objectives.
– Price and forecast project costs, reporting periodically on the financial status of individual projects.
– Track changes to the design and/or construction work, managing project costs and subcontractors accordingly.
– Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with cost, contracts, and procurement.
– Effectively manage subcontractor relationships, including procurement, payment applications, and dispute resolution. – Identify opportunities for cost savings and value enhancement.RequirementsRequirements:– Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.– Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in main contracting, with a focus on similar schemes.– Comprehensive understanding of traditional, steel frame, or timber frame construction methods.– Proficiency in handling various contract forms, including JCT D&B, management contracting, and NEC (desirable).– Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.– Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.– Proficiency in using relevant quantity surveying software and tools.– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors.Please Note:Unfortunately, our client cannot consider applicants who require sponsorship at any stage of their employment and you must also be able to provide proof of your eligibility to work in the UK.
