Having worked closely with this business for over 7 years, I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to work for a professional and reputable contractor that can offer them the opportunity to work on complex inner city schemes, along with fantastic career development opportunities.ABOUT THE ROLEDue to company expansion, my client is recruiting permanently for a Quantity Surveyor who holds a minimum of 3 years post graduate experience, working within demolition, cut & carve and / or structural alterations. The purpose of this role is to support the Commercial Manager in the successful commercial and financial management of demolition projects and tenders throughout London.As a Quantity Surveyor, you will assist in managing costs with an end goal of maximising the project margin and ensure delivery of payment whilst developing future client relationships. Key responsibilities will include assisting in the day to day tasks to provide further commercial support to both project delivery and estimating teams within the company which can be broken down into the following; Assisting in the prompt presentation for all applications for payment and final accounts, including all contractual entitlements / assisting in ensuring that all payments are received in accordance with the contract terms, as well as assisting in the preparation and presentation of monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVR) and final cost/value forecasts. This opportunity will also encompass procurement, negotiation and the placing of sub-contract orders; which inevitably leads to assisting in the financial and commercial management of sub-contracts through settlement of Final Accounts.All tasks need a high level of detail and pride in presentation, especially when drafting contractual letters/notices to ensure they are presented in accordance with the contract requirements.REQUIREMENTSIn order to be considered for this opportunity, you will need to be degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or similar. Additionally, you must have a minimum of 3 years post graduate experience and this must have been gained whilst working for a construction or civil engineering contractor in the South East. Previous experience of working on enabling works projects (involving demolition, RC and / or structural alterations) is essential.REWARDS AND BENEFITSFor this opportunity, my client is targeting professionals looking to earn anywhere between £45,000 – £65,000 per annum, however specific remuneration will depend on experience and suitability.
