An outstanding opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join the Commercial business unit-supporting a rapidly growing portfolio of Airfield maintenance projects throughout the UK. The role is to support the current commercial team in South Manchester and lead the commercial function for other projects throughout the Aviation Business Unit.Currently involved in a number of key frameworks and major schemes (at varying stages of the project lifecycle) at numerous. The teams are well-placed to understand the complex and unique challenges faced by each individual airport.
Working on a wide variety of infrastructure both in and around airport facilities, with our service offering and capabilities including but not limited to:
Airfield pavement replacement, repair and maintenance
Stand reconfiguration
Trench cutting and duct installation for utilities
Car parking projects
Public realm works
Airfield ground lighting installation
Early contractor involvement
Drainage and flood prevention
Inspections
Electrical vehicle charging points
Groundworks
Winter worksThe Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be working within the Commercial team and contributing to the profitable performance of the business unit on a portfolio of Aviation projects and maintenance frameworks, through the successful commercial and financial management of works, including day to day duties such as:
- Working with the commercial team and supporting Senior Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers in the commercial management of multiple sites on time and to budget.
- Pricing and ensuring estimates are submitted accurately and on time,
- Resolving pricing issues with clients
- Client Liaison
- Liaison with Site Managers to collate information on day to day remits,
- Subcontractor management
- Change management and early warnings
- Contract administration (NEC/NR forms of contract)
- CVR’s
- Final accounting.
Requirements
To excel in this role, you will have previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a civil engineering environment. Some experience working on aviation projects or maintenance frameworks would be beneficial but is not essential for the position.
Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (HNC/HND/Degree)
Civil Engineering project experience
Contractual experience with NEC or bespoke NR forms of contract)Salary and Package
