Reactive is currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor based in Newry or the surrounding area.The Quantity Surveyor has responsibility to ensure the Commercial Management, Tendering, Financial Reports, Valuations, Variations, Forecasts, CVR Reports are managed effectively.Regular travel to NI / ROI will be necessary to fulfil the QS role.Day to day:

• Developing & assessing tender opportunities.
• Identifying value engineering opportunities
• Compile technically excellent tender submissions.
• Keep up to date with industry regulations and health & safety standards.
• Ensure compliance and integrate these considerations into cost estimates.
• Negotiate effectively to ensure the optimum outcome.
• Effective contract administration & mitigating contractual risk.
• Assess & price variations and change orders.
• Financial reports, including cost forecasts, CVR reports, and cash flow projections.

Essential Criteria:

• Degree educated Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager.
• 5+ years’ experience in Construction / Civil Engineering / Demolition.
• Proficiency in quantity take-off software and cost estimation tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Familiarity with contract administration and construction project management.
• Sound understanding of financial principles and budget control.
• UK Driving Licence, access to own car, willing to travel to sites in NI / ROI.
