Quantity Surveyor (QS)
Permanent Role – London – Up to £65,000 per AnnumAre you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking for a new opportunity? If so, we would love to hear from you!We are currently working with a well-established contractor seeking an experienced and qualified Quantity Surveyor to join their team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring financial resources are allocated efficiently throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires strong analytic skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.Duties Include:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, including materials, labour, plant, and overheads.
  • Monitor project expenditures and implement cost control measures to ensure budgets are met.
  • Administer change management and project variations.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess the financial viability of projects.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors when pricing tenders.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure accurate costings and smooth project delivery.
  • Prepare tender documents and assist in evaluating bids.
  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions related to projects.
  • Provide regular cost reports and financial updates to stakeholders.
  • Advise on procurement strategies and assist in contract negotiations.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is essential.
  • Minimum of 5 year’s experience in a quantity surveying or cost management role.
  • Strong knowledge of cost control techniques and financial management in construction projects.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • MRICS or MCIOB accreditation is preferred but not essential-support can be provided for candidates pursuing chartership.
