Intermediate/Senior Quantity Surveyor – Infrastructure ProjectsLocation: Manchester, United KingdomAbout the Role:
I am seeking an experienced and proactive Intermediate/Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an expanding infrastructure team based in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a world-class consultancy firm with a reputation for delivering high-quality, impactful projects across multiple sectors including rail, water, aviation, nuclear, and highways.As an Intermediate/Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing and delivering major infrastructure projects, from inception through to completion. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive commercial and cost management services, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.Key Responsibilities (Varies across levels):
- Lead and manage cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting for infrastructure projects.
- Provide robust commercial management services throughout the project lifecycle, including procurement advice, contract management, and risk management.
- Prepare detailed cost reports, tender documents, and bills of quantities.
- Conduct value engineering and cost control exercises to maximize project efficiency.
- Advise clients on procurement strategies, contractual matters, and project delivery models.
- Administer contracts, including reviewing and negotiating contract variations and claims.
- Collaborate closely with project teams, stakeholders, and clients to ensure effective communication and delivery of project objectives.
- Contribute to the growth and development of the infrastructure business by identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation in service delivery.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field.
- MRICS or working towards achieving chartered status (preferred).
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a focus on infrastructure sectors such as rail, water, aviation, nuclear, or highways.
- Strong knowledge of NEC forms of contract.
- Excellent commercial awareness, with the ability to manage budgets, financial forecasting, and cost reporting effectively.
- A proactive, solution-oriented approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
