Our client is a leading name in data centre construction, with an impressive track record of delivering high-value, complex projects across the UK and Northern Europe. Due to continued growth and new project wins, they are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic commercial team.The RoleAs a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key part in delivering medium to large-scale data centre builds, providing commercial support across all project stages – from pre-construction and procurement to final account. Working as part of a larger team, you’ll be based in the UK with regular travel to live sites across Europe.Key Responsibilities
- Oversee cost planning, budgeting and forecasting for data centre construction projects.
- Manage procurement processes, including preparation of tender documentation and negotiation with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Monitor and control project costs, reporting on financial performance and ensuring alignment with budget.
- Prepare, submit and negotiate interim valuations and final accounts.
- Identify and manage risk and value opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support contract administration, including assessing variations, issuing payment notices, and resolving disputes.
- Liaise with project teams, consultants and client representatives to ensure efficient commercial management.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in data centre construction or similarly complex, high-specification M&E projects.
- Proven knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contract forms.
- Strong analytical, communication and negotiation skills.
- Willingness to travel across the UK and Europe as required.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline; chartership (or working toward) is advantageous.
