Zonta House Refuge Association (Zonta House) is a specialist provider of family and domestic violence (FDV) services. Our purpose, values and services have been informed through 38 years of experience, the needs of women in our community and research in leading practice.

Zonta House provides a suite of services for women experiencing FDV that reinforce one another and represent the core of Zonta House’s work. That is, when the voices of women are heard, our responses uphold dignity, builds on safety, and challenges the drivers of abuse. Victims/Survivors of FDV are able to access responsive and person-centred support based on their needs to build a future free from abuse.

About the role

This is an exciting new opportunity to be an integral part of a new program in Western Australia at Zonta House.

The Rapid Rehousing Support Coordinator role is suitable for candidates with experience in a community housing sector or property-related industry with tenancy management practices. This role will provide pathways to private tenancy and case support to women, and their children, in the community who are victims/survivors of FDV. This is a part-time position of 30 hours/week, fixed term contract until the end of December 2024. This role is based in Bentley and works across the Perth Metropolitan.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

  • Establish and foster a new relationship with a network of landlords and property agents to create pathways of safe, suitable private accommodation
  • Actively promote the program with external FDV services to support rentals
  • Actively network with landlords and property agents in the private rental market and advocate on behalf of women.
  • Provide holistic support planning in consultation with the women using a strength-based and trauma-informed approach. Meeting regularly to adjust and update support plans.
  • Provide informal counselling, advocacy, practical and emotional support.
  • Facilitate referrals, support letters and external client-focused meetings.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Relevant experience in a community housing sector, or property-related industry with tenancy management practices, RTA legislation and administrative processes.
  • Ability to establish new and foster existing partnerships with successful outcomes.
  • Experience working with women who have experienced family and/or domestic violence
  • Experience facilitating assessments, advocacy, and case management or support plans
  • The ability to provide holistic support using a Strengths-Based Therapy approach and Trauma-informed Practice.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of adhering to organisational contractual obligations including, report writing and outcome measurement tools.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the appropriate relationship boundaries with clients and other service provider
  • Ability to adapt with ease, working as a member of a team as well as independently
  • Expert knowledge of referral pathways in family and domestic violence support and community services, desirable
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or significant experience in Social Sciences, Public Sector Management, Social Work or related disciplines, desirable

The successful candidate will need to provide:

  • National Police Clearance Certificate
  • Working with Children Check
  • A valid motor vehicle driver’s license with a good driving records
