Sagebrush Biological Consulting
tendersglobal.net
Sagebrush is seeking someone with a wildlife/biological/ecological background to help us conduct raptor surveys on several national forests across the Southwest this spring/summer.
The work is remote and the physicality necessary is demanding, often requiring several miles of hiking per day. Because of the remoteness of the work, camping for several nights in a stretch. Most days, you’ll be close enough to a town like Prescott, Santa Fe, Taos, Payson, Williams (AZ) that you would be able to get provisions, showers, laundry.
Training will be paid, and completed in the field with one of our senior biologists. Sagebrush will cover all your expenses including gas, food, etc.; compensation is negotiable and commensurate with your experience–it’s a job, not an internship. We can provide a four-wheel drive vehicle to the right candidate. We welcome candidates willing to use their own vehicles in exchange for generous mileage compensation. We anticipate work to begin in May and extending through August 31st of 2024.
Sagebrush is a laid-back company that takes science, and our work, seriously, so we expect a kind of backcountry professionalism. We’re happy to consider college students on summer break.
This is a great fit for science-minded nomads or students looking for entry-level experience the field of wildlife biology and ecology.
Please email your resume to me, Ben, at the above-mentioned email address. Include things like your degree, experience with wildlife/animals, backpacking experience, and things that indicate your ability to live in the backcountry comfortably.
We look forward to hearing from you!
