For over 25 years our Phoenix office has provided a range of services including resettlement and economic empowerment services, immigration, community gardening, case management for victims of trafficking and other immigrants as well as asylum seekers through services at the Welcome Center.

Job Summary

The Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA) Assistant provides support to the RCA staff in the collection of client documents, applications, client outreach, documentation, database maintenance, and card distribution. The Assistant is required to be present in the office for open office hours. The RCA Assistant will work across office teams to ensure participant success and continued understanding of program rules.

Major Responsibilities:

• Maintain primary database of information, including client information, program compliance, employment status; transfer and maintain data from several locations to ensure data accuracy.

• Coordinate with other RCA staff to prepare for monthly cash card distribution, including but not limited to organizing information, categorizing and sorting cards, both physically and digitally, and scanning and uploading documents.

• Assist in client enrollment by uploading, organizing, and submitting documentation for enrolled clients.

• Ensure accurate documentation is uploaded into state database (ARRPODS) when requested to support. Verify potential enrollees are not enrolled in any other cash assistance program.

• Document participant interactions and monthly compliance in databases and spreadsheets in a timely manner.

• Work as part of a cross-department team providing comprehensive, trauma-informed, strength-based services to IRC clients.

• Coordinate with colleagues across departments to address participant needs and barriers to self-sufficiency.

• Participate in all program meetings, staff development and wellness activities, and fully engage as a member of the team.

• Attend all required state training and meetings.

• Follow all IRC policies, procedures and protocols including adherence to the IRC Way and Child Safeguarding.

• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• A minimum of one-year direct casework experience.

• Fluency in written and spoken English, bilingual ability preferred in Spanish or other refugee languages.

• Cross-cultural understanding and strong communication, both written and verbal.

• Lived experience as refugee or immigrant. In lieu of lived experience, experience working with refugees and/or immigrants or experience working cross-culturally

• Ability to prepare accurate and timely reports, document client interactions and services and maintain updated and accurate case files. Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.

• Excellent computer skills, with an emphasis on Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook. Proven experience in web-based data entry systems, with database experience strongly preferred.

• Highly organized self-starter with proven success prioritizing multiple tasks, making critical decisions, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment with stringent deadlines

• Must have a valid driver’s license, active insurance policy, access to reliable transportation and the ability to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area for home visits, and visits to other agencies or service providers.

• In accordance with Arizona State Law, must possess or be eligible to receive a fingerprint clearance card.

Compensation:

Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.

US Benefits:

The IRC offers a comprehensive and highly competitive set of benefits. All US employees are eligible for sick time, a 403b retirement savings plans: up to 4.5% immediately vested matching contribution, plus an 3-7% additional IRC contribution, and an Employee Assistance Program which is available to our staff and their families to support in times of crisis and mental health struggles.

In addition, full-time employees are eligible for 10 US paid holidays, 20-25 paid time off days, disability & life insurance, medical, dental, and vision insurance (employee contribution starting at $135, $7, and $5 per month respectively) and FSA for healthcare, childcare, and commuter costs. Part-time employees are eligible for a proportionate amount of paid time off. These additional benefits apply to employees who work at least 6 months within a 12 month time period.
