Duties and Responsibilities Background The UNRCO in Angola contributes to the national priorities is set by the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2024-2028, signed by the UN and the Government of Angola. The UNSDCF is the United Nations strategic document, which outlines the UN strategics contributions and support to the efforts of the Government of Angola to realize Agenda 2030. It sets out the UN system´s collective contributions to support the Government and other stakeholders to achieve the countries´ goals towards sustainable development. The Governance of the UNSDCF 2024-2028, comprises a management structure which includes the evaluation and monitoring of the UN interventions. As part of the M&E, the UNCT elaborates the annual UN country results report, which captures the UN collective results at country level. The consultancy will showcase the transformational changes derived from the UN collective results, while keeping the people at the center of the report. This consultancy service is based in the United Nations Resident Coordinator Office (RCO) in Angola. The Resident Coordinator Office constitutes the primary support structure to the Resident Coordinator (RC) and the United Nations Country Team (UNCT). Led by the RC, the RCO supports the UN coherent effort and coordinated UN response to Angola´s development priorities. This consultancy service is to rewrite the UN 2024 Country results report of the United Nations Country Team in Angola. The international consultant will be reporting and supervised directly to the Data Management Officer (DMO) and the Head of the RCO. The outputs of the consultants will be evaluated, primarily by the DMO, and the Head of the RCO and ultimately the Resident Coordinator. Responsibilities • Rewrite, revise and edit the texts of the 2024 UN country results report, based on the zero draft report, which will be provided by the RCO. • Harmonize the report in a way that the UN collective results are well articulated, demonstrating the changes in people and institutions derived from the UN results. • Prepare the report within the timeframe of 10th of February to 10th March 2025, in line with the approved roadmap. • Design, insert graphics and proofread the report based on the graphics, photos and other inputs to be provided by the RCO.

Qualifications/special skills

Masters or equivalent degree in development studies/international development, international relations, political science, governance and public policy, social sciences, or any other related field is required. Minimum 5 years’ experience in writing, rewriting country results reports of international multilateral and bilateral organizations, including proof reading and finalizing the report with graphic and design is required. Documented experience in rewriting UN country results report and good understanding on the work of the UN system is desirable.

Languages

Fluency of English Language is required. Knowledge of Portuguese Language is desirable.
