The Finance Officer plays a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day finance operations within the SRO. This position is tasked with ensuring strict adherence to all NRC financial policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include document verification, meticulous management of financial trackers, accurate preparation of financial entries, and serving as a focal point for compliance and audit matters.
Generic responsibilities
- Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines.
- Implement delegated support function portfolio according to plan of action.
- Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.
- Ensure proper filing of documents.
- Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function.
Specific responsibilities
- Verify Supporting Documents (e.g., PR, PO, Invoice).
- Prepare and/or review Voucher Slips within authorized thresholds.
- Ensure timely booking of accounting records.
- Assist in invoice posting in Agresso/Unit4.
- Maintain up-to-date financial trackers.
- Support on the revision and verification of payroll, Cash for Work Payments, and community-based worker payments.
- Organize and maintain the finance archive for easy accessibility.
- Assist in the month-end closing process.
- Prepare and ensure the availability of all supporting documents for audits.
- Fulfil any additional tasks delegated by the supervisor.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial data and compliance with organizational policies.
- Support in the development and implementation of financial procedures and controls.
- Handle ad hoc financial tasks as required by management.
Competencies

- Experience from working as a Finance Officer in a humanitarian/recovery context.
- Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
- Some knowledge of English
Context related skills, knowledge and experience:
- Has minimum 2- 4 years work experience in Finance partially or fully in NGO/INGO.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or any relevant field
- Good level of English and Arabic Languages (Written and Spoken).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong Organizational Skills.
- Good cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- Trustworthy and confidential.
- Good technical MS Office Application skills.
