Are you a visionary conservation leader with a passion for conservation real estate; can you lay out a clear path and inspire and guide your team along it?
With your experience, you will establish, lead, and implement policy for the acquisition, disposal, and real property management of the Department of Fish and Wildlife’s statewide real property assets.
This work of your team provides the critical link between agency objectives (species and habitat conservation, public recreation, hatcheries, department facilities) and realized outcomes where real property interests are a component of the outcome.
In this dynamic leadership role,
You will develop and implement effective real property management strategies for nearly 1.1 million acres of owned and controlled lands and 450 water access areas that achieve fish and wildlife resource management goals and assure protection and enhancement of the state’s real property asset value.
You thrive on collaboration and teamwork,
Ensure coordination of real property strategies, policies, and actions with other WDFW programs, Regional Directors, user groups, land trusts and other non-profit partners, legislators and federal, state and local officials, and the Fish and Wildlife Commission.
Provide the vision and direction for your team members,
While advancing agency policy and priorities for short and long-term, real property ownership. This includes work associated with compliance in legal and fiduciary obligations, permitting and leasing processes, and water rights management.
Motivate and provide leadership for staff,
Foster and contribute to a respectful and inclusive work environment where all individuals feel safe and empowered to contribute to the work of the larger team.

Please Note: Four (4) years of related professional experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree provided the time is in business or public administration, real estate, economics, accounting, natural resource management, fish and wildlife habitat conservation and/or public lands recreation, or related field.
