Receptionist/Administrative Assistant

The Receptionist /Administrative Assistant is a highly visible position in the School of Communication and is the first point of contact for phone, email, and in-person correspondence with the School. This position will interact with members of the university community and with individuals and organizations from outside the university. Additionally, the Receptionist/Administrative Assistant supports school operations. The ideal candidate is well organized, has strong interpersonal skills, and is an effective oral and written communicator. This position will report to the School of Communication Business Manager.

*Staffing the main reception desk, greeting visitors, answering and routing telephone calls and general email messages, responding to basic inquiries, and accepting, signing for and distributing incoming mail and packages.

*Providing administrative support, including but not exclusive to data entry and recordkeeping, grade tracking and changes, and coordinating SPOT evaluations, for undergraduate programs, general office duties.

*Coordinating graduate-program applications and recordkeeping.

*Supporting basic school operations, such as file management, timeclock supervision, travel approvals and reimbursement submissions, special-event arrangements, student wage timesheet entry, scheduling events and room use, class material preparation and document duplication, and social media postings.

*Other duties as assigned.
