Who are we looking for?

We are seeking an experienced, highly confident project professional that is passionate about driving genuine reconciliation initiatives through tailored engagement and partnerships; reversing the systemic racism of historical imbalance experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander people within our organisational context.

In this incredibly critical role, you will be working closely with and across our diverse business areas to build engagement and understanding and meet the initiatives set as part of our 2-year Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP 2022-2025). You will have the power to make what you want of this role and, through your ability to build and foster solid connections, significantly influence senior leadership on the implementation of RAP deliverables. You will report directly into the Executive General Manager of Community Services and will need to be proactive, able to work independently, build cultural capability and have strong understanding of and strong connections with First Nations communities to ensure a co-designed and collaborative approach.

What can you expect to be doing?

  • Engage with broad business areas to drive reconciliation initiatives and apply culturally sensitive and respectful approaches.
  • Research industry best practice and support the development of culturally safe and suitable programs and strategies with senior leaders.
  • Foster awareness through the development of creative training programs and educational resources in order to upskill our workforce and ensure that the work undertaken is mindful and respectful of First Nations people’s rights and cultural interests and recognises the value of their time.

What do you need to bring?

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Indigenous history, culture, and reconciliation processes
  • Proven experience in project administration, monitoring, report writing, presenting and reporting feedback coupled with analytical, research problem-solving skills
  • Certificate/ Diploma in Project Management (preferable)
  • Clearances: NPC / WWCC / driver’s licence
