  • Permanent, part-time opportunity (working 3 days per week)
  • Based at our Ballarat location
  • Base Salary = $63,646 (pro rata) + Superannuation with Salary Packaging up to $15.9k

Working closely with clients, you’ll have opportunities for skill development within a transdisciplinary team, ensuring a safe environment for people with blindness and low vision. A qualification in lifestyle and health (aged care or community health) is preferred.

Experience in running, planning, and developing social and recreational groups, along with familiarity with NDIS and My Aged Care, is valuable. You should be comfortable driving a 12-seat bus. This is a client-facing role with no work-from-home option, with work hours on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

About the Opportunity

As our Recreation Support Worker, you will deliver recreation programs for a diverse clientele and to ensure the overall smooth operation of recreation services offered for clients, to assist in achieving equity and access for people who are blind or have low vision. In this role you will also:

  • Plan, develop, deliver and evaluate high quality social support groups across the region;
  • Ensure effective transdisciplinary service provision for clients and their families;
  • Provide direction, support and training for volunteers so they can assist in the delivery of recreational activities;

About You

As part of the Client Services team, you should have a demonstrated ability to plan, implement and evaluate programs and activities for individuals and groups. In addition a Certificate III Community Services – Age Care (or equivalent) is encouraged. You will also have:

  • Certificate IV in Leisure and Health or similar
  • Have a clear identified passion for Leisure & Lifestyle
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ageing and disability
  • Excellent organisational & time management skills
