About the Role
We are looking for a Recruitment Partner to join our friendly and supportive DES team in Emerald. The successful applicant will come with a variety of work and life experience, a ‘can do’ attitude and willingness to think creatively when it comes to developing tailored pathways to employment, for our customers who have a disability, illness or injury.
Key role responsibilities include:
- Engaging with employers and gaining an understanding of the local labour market to identify new and ongoing employment opportunities
- Networking with community organisations who work with people with a disability, illness or injury, to explain our services and attract those in our community who need support looking for work
- Developing strong relationships with customers, both face to face and over the phone, to understand their capacity to work, their employment preferences and what support, skills and knowledge they need
- Maintaining regular employer and customer contact after they start work to review their progress and ensure any issues are actioned swiftly
- Assisting our customers to become job ready
- Working with other local community services where required to address any barriers to employment that our customers may be experiencing
About You
We are looking for passionate people who genuinely want to assist others in our local community; addressing any barriers that prevent our customers from securing ongoing, meaningful employment. You don’t need to have experience in our industry, however, here are a few things we are looking for:
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and adapt to an ongoing changing environment (this is a must!)
- The ability to build rapport and communicate with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds and life experience; you are a true people person
- You are not afraid to seek out and consult with local employers and community organisations to develop employment opportunities for our customers
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment, in a high performance, results focused culture
- Availability to work from 8.30 am – 5.00 pm Monday to Friday
Additional requirements
- Right to Work in Australia i.e., Australian/NZ Citizen, Permanent Resident or Visa with permission to work
- A current Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
- If you need to apply for a Blue Card and you are successful in securing the role, we will reimburse you the cost of the checks
- A current and valid Driver’s Licence
- Willingness to undertake a “Fit2Work” Police Check
