self-actualization of African Americans and other students. The

About the Role

The Regional Coordinator – Northern and Southern California
plays a crucial role in supporting the implementation and success
of Umoja Community programs across the region. This is a hybrid
position that involves both remote and on-site work.

The Regional Coordinator is responsible for building
relationships with community colleges and other educational
institutions in Northern and Southern California, identifying
opportunities for partnership and collaboration, and providing
support and guidance to Umoja Community programs in the region.
They will work closely with Umoja Community staff, college faculty,
and students to ensure the effective implementation of Umoja
Community programs and initiatives.

In addition, the Regional Coordinator will be responsible for
organizing and facilitating trainings, workshops, and conferences
for Umoja Community educators and staff. They will develop and
deliver presentations, create educational materials, and provide
ongoing support and guidance to educators involved in Umoja
Community programs.

The Regional Coordinator will also be involved in data
collection and analysis to assess the impact of Umoja Community
programs, identify areas for improvement, and inform program
development and expansion.

The role of Regional Coordinator – Northern and Southern
California is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with community colleges and
    other educational institutions in Northern and Southern
    California
  • Identify opportunities for partnership and collaboration with
    colleges and other organizations
  • Provide support and guidance to Umoja Community programs in the
    region
  • Organize and facilitate trainings, workshops, and conferences
    for Umoja Community educators and staff
  • Develop and deliver presentations and educational
    materials
  • Collect and analyze data to assess program impact and inform
    program development and expansion
  • Stay informed about current educational trends and best
    practices
  • Contribute to the overall success and growth of Umoja Community
    programs

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, social sciences, or related
    field
  • Experience working in a community college or educational
    setting
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience organizing and facilitating trainings or
    workshops
  • Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with
    diverse stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and data analysis
    tools
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within
    Northern and Southern California

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in education, social sciences, or related
    field
  • Prior experience working with Umoja Community programs or
    similar initiatives
  • Experience with program evaluation and data analysis
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Working Conditions

This is a hybrid position with a combination of remote and
on-site work. The Regional Coordinator will be expected to travel
(50%-60%) to various college campuses and educational events within
Northern and Southern California.
