ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Internews is seeking two detailed-oriented Regional Finance Associates to support financial operations in the MENA region. The Regional Finance Associates will take on a variety of responsibilities, including processing invoices, managing expense reimbursements, reconciling credit cards, and maintaining accurate inventory records—all in compliance with organizational and donor standards. This is a complex administrative support role, requiring some prior experience and training and strong organizational skills. The Regional Finance Associates will collaborate closely with and report to the MENA Regional Finance Officer.

There are two vacancies available, and candidates based in Tunisia and Iraq will be considered.

DAY-TO-DAY TASKS will include:

  • Review and process invoices, expense reimbursements, advance requests, and payment requests, ensuring proper coding, documentation, and approvals in the Unit 4 ERP system.
  • Perform regular monitoring of business and personal advances of MENA staff, flagging and resolving outstanding advances in collaboration with relevant teams.
  • Support teams in vetting required parties to ensure compliance with organizational and donor standards.
  • Reconcile credit cards on a monthly basis.
  • Track and manage inventory in coordination with project teams and HQ accounting, ensuring accurate documentation in the ERP system.
  • Support the administration of participant stipends, honoraria, and fellowships, ensuring compliance with organizational guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Finance Officer to streamline financial operations and improve adherence to accounting policies and standards.
  • Update the project Budget vs. Actuals (BvAs) with monthly actuals.
  • Provide additional financial or operational support as mutually agreed upon to meet regional and organizational needs.

QUALIFICATIONS WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

Required

  • University Degree or equivalent lived/professional experience.
  • Up to two years of prior relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required. Proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, proactive attitude, and a commitment to teamwork.
