The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of two years. There are very good prospects for an extension. Employment location will be one of Welthungerhilfe’s project countries after feasibility check.

As Regional Finance Manager you will be responsible for providing functional leadership to finance staff in Welthungerhilfe’s programme countries. You will continuously work on increasing efficiency and effectivenes of finance processes and monitor delivery of key results in order to identify and mitigate risks. In addition you will lead Heads of Finance in country offices in their management role.

Your responsibilities

  • Providing technical leadership to finance staff in programme countries, including staff seconded from the Program Finance Operations team
  • Monitoring the quality as well as efficiency and effectiveness of finance in programmes countries through result-critical KPIs
  • Developing and initiating concrete actions to improve finance processes in coordination with the Head of Finance/Country Office, including the identification of training needs
  • Ensuring adequate structures (functional reviews) to proactively address potential risks or minimize existing ones
  • Regular exchange with the Country Director, Head of Finance/Country Office and, if applicable, Regional Director regarding finance quality
  • Initiating/further developing company-wide digitalization
  • Participating in finance key staff job interviews including decision-making processes
  • Accompanying internal and external audits including evaluation of audit reports in close coordination with the Head of Finance/Country offices

Your profile

  • A university or college degree in finance or a related field
  • At least 3-5 years of professional and management experience in similar work environments
  • Relevant work experience in finance management in a humanitarian or development setting, preferably in Africa or Asia
  • Ability to take and implement result oriented decisions
  • Coordination and organizational skills, as well as profound management skills
  • Intercultural sensitivity and excellent communication skills to cope in a multinational work environment
  • Willingness to travel and work in Welthungerhilfe’s project countries
  • Readiness to receive necessary vaccinations for working in Welthungerhilfe’s programme countries
  • Excellent English and French language skills, both written and spoken
