Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Regional Learning Specialist (RLS) is responsible for coordinating with both internal and external contacts to monitor, track and communicate regarding training requirements for workers who are served through a contract with the state. The position of RLS is also responsible for leading training sessions per the contracting agency requests and assisting with logistics for trainings and non-training events.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services or related field

Experience: One year of related experience required.

Job Duties:

  • 25% – Monitor and track staff required trainings for the contracting agency. Responsible for registering training participants for specific, designated trainings where self-registration is not allowed. Approve/deny or edit registrations, as needed. Secure registration, monitor queue, approve/deny training requests, and submit training requests (if needed) and edit registrations, as needed. Generate/analyze training reports and process training make‐up forms. Process training credit, if applicable. Alert the region of upcoming trainings, register new employees for their initial trainings and provide training completion tracking to their regional leadership. Provide logistical supports related to training sessions, as is feasible. – (Essential)
  • 20% – Design and revise curriculum for training modules provided by EKU TRC Regional Learning Specialists. Schedule and lead Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) courses, if needed. Conduct the new employee training to acquaint contract agency staff with expectations and training requirements. – (Essential)
  • 20% – Manage information updates, participate in meetings to provide training updates, and facilitate communications related to trainings for contract agency staff, as needed. Track changes in contact information and ensure training records are up to date. Respond to questions and agency staff concerns. – (Essential)
  • 20% – Coordinate logistics for training delivery for staff of the contract agency, as requested. Assist with logistics for contracting agency meetings and non-training events, if feasible. – (Essential)
  • 10% – Provide support for regional training projects. Assist with special training projects. Activities could include monitoring web portal for activity/completion of required tasks and reporting to the state contracting agency and assisting with scheduling of special project trainings, etc. – (Essential)
  • 5% – Other duties as assigned. – (Essential)

The funding for this position is from federal and/or state funds and is subject to annual renewal. This is a contract EKU position.
