Regional Manager Eastern Africa (80-90%)
Your tasks: You will assume responsibility for the development and financing of the East Africa region. Together with the country representative and her team in Tanzania, you will be responsible for the thematic and administrative management of the regional program and projects in the region. You will be re-sponsible for the financing, reporting, accounting and evaluation of projects. Depending on your spe-cialist knowledge and experience, you will take responsibility for a relevant topic within the organi-zation, provide knowledge and advise country programmes and projects as required. You will repre-sent SWISSAID in relevant networks and with institutions and authorities in Switzerland and abroad. You will also be involved in information and public relations work and work closely with colleagues in an advisory and advocacy team. You will be supported by colleagues from Fundraising Switzer-land and the finance department.
Requirements: You have a university degree or equivalent education and solid knowledge of development policy. You have at least 5 years of professional experience in development cooperation and working with grassroots organizations in the areas of agroecology, gender, natural resources management, climate adaptation and/or water supply and sanitation. You also have experience in remote leadership, coaching as well as quality control and impact-oriented management of projects and country pro-grams. You have solution-oriented thinking and excellent communication skills. You can express yourself very well both verbally and in writing in English and French. Knowledge of Spanish and German is an advantage. As the person responsible for these demanding tasks, we are looking for an experienced, independent, team-oriented, committed and interculturally sensitive personality with negotiating skills, organiza-tional talent and flexibility.
