We currently have a vacancy for a dynamic individual interested in joining a market-leading team selling into academia, materials research, engineering, and process industries. Our primary customer base within the UK comprises blue-chip and research companies, particularly in nuclear and aerospace fields.
Reporting directly to the UK Sales Director, this role encompasses two key areas. Firstly, managing, maintaining, and expanding customer relationships for all product lines within a defined region in the UK.
Areas to be covered are:
Sheffield, M62 Corridor, North East, Central Scotland.
Secondly, as the Application Specialist, you’ll be responsible for developing and executing the UK strategy for either Nuclear Applications or MIM / CIM / AM, Vacuum Furnace Systems. Experience in these technologies would be advantageous.
The role is home-based, requiring applicants to be located within the region they are covering—including overnight stays for meetings at customer and manufacturing sites, is a requirement.
Primary Responsibilities:
Act as the primary point of contact for assigned customers within your region.
Manage opportunities using the Microsoft Dynamics CRM system.
Assist in preparing quotes and tender submissions.
Develop and maintain long-term commercial relationships with key accounts supported by the market strategy plan (MSP).
Collaborate with customers and academic professionals to develop application notes and establish a presence in their application area.
Arrange meetings with customers both on-site and online to review technical specifications and requirements.
Identify opportunities to grow business with existing and new customers aligned with the application and region strategy.
Resolve queries within defined timeframes, manage key accounts.
Typically spend 3 days per week on the road, with one home day and one office day.
Collaborate with other sales teams and colleagues to reach prospective customers and promote other brands.
Represent the customer within the business to ensure timely product and service delivery.
Participate in trade shows, table tops, and conferences, mainly in the UK.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
Degree or equivalent in Engineering or Scientific Studies – highly desirable.
Minimum of a BTEC HNC or equivalent in a practical discipline – minimum requirement.
Experience in either:
Nuclear industry (Desirable)
MIM / CIM / Additive Manufacturing.
Vacuum Systems.
A proven track record of achievement in a customer-facing role, minimum 3 years’ experience.
Fluent English, both written and verbal.
Outcome-focused with strong achievement and customer orientation.
Experience using CRM would be beneficial, but training can be provided.
Computer literacy (Word/Excel/Microsoft Power Point).
Excellent communication skills, ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and prioritize workload.
Highly motivated with a team-oriented work style.
Knowledge in laboratory products, industrial, or both would be advantageous.
Hold a full clean driving license.
Hold a valid passport for occasional international travel.

Core hours are 37.50 hours per week, Mon-Thurs 8.00 – 4.45 pm, Friday 8.00 -12.30 pm (Early finish on Friday).
