About the Role

Successful candidates will play a vital role in delivering high-quality maternity care and support to expectant mothers and staff within the program. You will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and compassionate environment where you can make a meaningful impact on the lives of patients and support others in the team and mentor junior midwifes, while growing your own career.

  • Work across a full scope of practice or at a minimum, two of the three areas, providing consistency across the women’s journey
  • Work in a team model that collaborates with the broader maternity teams across Monash Women’s, including the multidisciplinary and leadership teams
  • Opportunities to expand your career and work within the Midwives in Small Teams – MiST model of care – caseload model

Our positions are ongoing and we offer both full time and part time, working across a 24/7 rotating roster, including weekends and Night Duty.

About You

To ensure your success in this role, you will have following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

  • proven experience working in an Acute Maternity service and have demonstrated skills and knowledge in antenatal / post natal and birth suite as a minimum.
  • a commitment to supporting other midwives the opportunity to gain and maintain full scope of practice
  • proven ability to work collaboratively with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team to achieve goals and health outcomes
  • sound communication skills, enabling the development and maintenance of effective working relationships with health professionals, support staff and other stakeholders, both internal and external to Monash Health
  • demonstrated organisational skills, time management, analytical and problem solving skills
  • You are driven and look forward to growing your career with the support of amazing mentors and educators within our highly skilled broader Maternity team.
  • Current AHPRA registration to practice as a Registered Midwife
