Description

Introduction:

The Iraqi Ashur Relief and Development Foundation was officially registered with the NGO Directorate after initially operating as a volunteer team. Its registration came in response to pressing societal needs in the provinces of Nineveh, Salahuddin, Anbar, Diyala, and Basra, which faced significant challenges due to security incidents, wars, and conflicts. These events led to mass displacement and migration from numerous cities in these provinces as they were occupied by terrorist groups. Consequently, economic hardships and social issues emerged, classifying most of the affected populations as marginalized and vulnerable, unable to access their constitutional and legal rights.

Amid this challenging economic landscape, the foundation arose to provide aid to displaced communities, later transitioning to direct work in rehabilitating cities following their liberation after 2014.
