About the role
The Relationship Manager Major Gifts identifies, acquires, develops and maintains relationships with high value donors and philanthropists to solicit major financial gifts to generate revenue and secure funding that supports the implementation of a range of strategic research and client-focused programs/services. The role is responsible for developing and maintaining a network of strategic funders to provide a sustainable pipeline of revenue and to ensure the successful achievement of agreed income targets.
Responsibilities of the role (not limited to):
- Achieve individual annual income target by focusing on high-value philanthropic donors and prospects
- Achieve overall major gifts income target by focusing on strong teamwork
- Prospect identification/research and wealth screening (internal supporter base and external)
- Cultivating relationships with prospects
- Preparing and making donation requests, including development of funding proposals and presentations
- Excellent donor stewardship, including additional opportunities for engagement and support, to increase retention and grow a sustainable major giving program
- Maintain all relationship based information regarding donors and prospects in the CRM system, including value, opportunities, contact and activity planning, communications and reporting
- Actively contribute to achieving the overall Philanthropy team and broader Fundraising team revenue targets by leveraging opportunities and proactively collaborating on engagement opportunities.
About you:
- Be experienced in developing and implementing a major gifts program
- Be experienced in building strong and robust relationships
- Have excellent verbal and written communication, presenting and promotion skills
- Be a team player with strong work ethic, a positive attitude, a high degree of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality
- Have excellent interpersonal skills, outstanding presentation, influencing and negotiation skills
