This is an exciting opportunity to join the fundraising team at Australia’s largest not-profit organisation and bring sustainable and lasting change to the lives of the world’s most vulnerable children. You will connect with individuals with the heart and means to make major gifts and to spread and scale World Vision’s work to transform the lives of vulnerable children and their families.
You will be responsible for achieving financial and non-financial targets, building a pipeline of high-net-worth donor opportunities and delivering high quality and authentic stewardship of supporters. Managing your own portfolio, you will be responsible for all stages of the major gift solicitation.

Your main duties and responsibilities:
- Expand WVA’s presence and reputation within the philanthropic communities in Melbourne
- Actively engage World Vision donors and prospects to offer opportunities and offerings to achieve impact through their philanthropic support
- Develop and implement an engagement strategy for each supporter using moves management methodologies, including a communications plan that meets both their needs and those of World Vision
- Manage the supporter’s partnership journey to increase engagement in the work of World Vision, through a variety of activities including events, field trips, etc.
- Effectively communicate the needs of major donors to key internal stake holders and teams
Who we’re looking for
We are looking for someone who knows Melbourne and Victoria well, has existing networks and is highly motivated with a positive attitude to raise funds for the world’s most vulnerable children.
You will have:
- At least 2 years of experience in major donor fundraising, with demonstrated success in engaging with high-net-worth individuals for fundraising in not-for-profit organisations
- Experience and expertise in developing relationships with major donors, and crafting, implementing major donor strategies and communication plans
- Proven track record of generating significant gifts and achieving income targets
- Strong working experience within the not for profit / for purpose sector
- Deep understanding of best practice relationship-based fundraising
- Proficiency with donor / customer databases for analysis and reporting
- Ability to work in a cross-functional structure
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding targets
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or related field is desirable
