The Center:
The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Stem Cell Medicine, reNEW has its Hub at UCPH as well as nodes at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, Murdoch Children’s Research Institute in Melbourne, Australia, and Leiden University Medical Center in Leiden, The Netherlands. Researchers within reNEW addresses fundamental questions in stem cell and developmental biology and aim to translate research findings to products that will help patients with incurable disorders such as congenital kidney disorders, chronic ulcerative disorders, neurological disorders, diabetes, bladder defects and chronic pulmonary conditions, fertility and liver disorders.

The reNEW Copenhagen Node is now seeking a highly motivated administrative student assistant for 10 hr/week for the duration of 12 months, starting on April 1st, 2024, or upon agreement with the chosen candidate.

Job description
The administrative assistant is expected to support the implementation of OPEN-STEM, a diversity and inclusion initiative funded by the Lundbeck Foundation. The assistant will be tasked with:

  • Supporting the diversity and inclusion committee proceedings
  • Supporting internal feedback collection and management
  • Supporting internal diversity and inclusion event organization
  • Ad hoc tasks

Qualifications and qualities
Candidates are expected to be currently enrolled in an educational program (active students).

As an office assistant within OPEN-STEM, you will work closely with administration and scientific staff and have the opportunity to develop your cross-disciplinary collaboration skills in an international environment.

Success in the position requires pro-active and service-minded attitude, reliability, attention to detail, high work ethics, good organizational skills, a willingness to learn, and enjoying a multi-cultural and diverse environment. Experience using MS Excel and digital editing tools is an advantage.  Very good English skills are essential.

Employment conditions
Employment conditions will be in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Organizations of Public Employees –governmental institutions (the OAO-S collective agreement) under HK/STAT, labor grade 1. Salary is DKK 132,68 per hour . Varying working hours is to be expected, but the average working hours is ten hours per week.
