Description of the Assignment:  The primary objective of this consultancy is to provide technical expertise and support to UNDP Angola in advancing renewable energy projects and initiatives across the country.

The consultant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following tasks:

•     Conducting assessments and analyses of renewable energy projects and potential areas for development in Angola, including field missions.
•     Providing technical guidance and support in the design, implementation, and monitoring of renewable energy initiatives including quantification of energy needs, requirements and specifications and drafting Terms of Reference for procurement of renewable energy goods and services.
•     Collaborating with relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and local communities, to ensure the successful implementation of the activities.
•     Developing capacity-building programs and training materials to enhance local expertise in renewable energy technologies.
•     Contributing to the development of project proposals, including feasibility studies, budgeting, and resource mobilization efforts.
•     Supporting knowledge management and dissemination activities related to renewable energy best practices and lessons learned.

 

Period of assignment/services: 60 days, from 3 May, 2024
