DIRECTORATE FOR COMMUNICATIONS
Under the guidance of the Secretary-General, the core mission of the Directorate for Communications (COM) is to maximise the reach and impact of the OECD and its work through clear, cutting-edge and evidence-based communications. The Directorate works in accordance with the OECD Communications Strategy and pursuant to the annual communication plans for which it is responsible, steering organisational efforts on strategic priorities and supporting policy directorates in their communications to specialised audiences. COM holds as a core value an agile, collaborative and supportive culture, one that is marked by positive interaction and accountability among professionals.
COMMUNICATIONS IMPACT, STANDARDS & CAPACITY BUILDING DIVISION
The mission of the division is to build and facilitate a collaborative community of excellence among communication staff at the OECD (One communication function) by promoting effective and consistent communications practices, developing a learning and improvement culture, and mitigating all forms of reputational risk.
Job Description
COM is looking for a Reputational Risk Co-ordinator to work in the Communication Impact, Standards & Capacity Building Division (CISC). The selected candidate will support analysis on mis and disinformation analysis and possible solutions to build internal and external resilience, assess the reputational risk of potential engagements, voluntary contributions and grants between the organisation and third parties. S/he will work under the supervision of the Head of division.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist with the development and implementation of strategies to identify, assess, monitor and mitigate reputational risks.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and provide actionable recommendations to senior management on reputational risks and their potential impact.
- Work closely with colleagues working to understand and mitigate the risks posed by 1) misinformation and disinformation and 2) third-party engagement with non-governmental stakeholders.
- Develop protocols and guidelines for responding to reputational-risk incidents while safeguarding the organisation’s reputation and integrity.
- Perform online monitoring to help detect emerging reputational threats and opportunities .
- Support in the reporting of OECD third-party engagement and the benchmarking of reporting practices by businesses and other international organisations.
- Produce detailed reports for the board concerning reputational risks and their potential impacts.
Qualifications
Ideal Candidate Profile
Academic Background
- An advanced University degree or equivalent in communications, journalism, marketing, business administration or other related discipline.
Professional Background
- Experience in reputational risk management, ideally within a global context.
- Understanding of social media risk management with a growing understanding of the emerging challenges of mis and disinformation.
- A good understanding/interest of the OECD’s substantive work (economy, taxes, education, environment).
- Experience in an international environment and ability to work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders are key assets.
- Experience in crafting, presenting, and disseminating complex ideas from a variety of data sources.
- Ability to diplomatically handle sensitive situations with target audiences and cultivate productive relationships.
- Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team, and reliable with respect to supporting and assisting others to perform whatever tasks are necessary to help the team achieve its goals.
- Shows pride in collective work and in achievements.

Core Competencies

Languages
- Fluency in one of the two OECD official languages (English and French) and knowledge of the other, with a commitment to reach a good working level.
- Knowledge of other languages would be an asset.
Additional Information
Contract Duration
- Six-month, renewable
- Ideal start date: September 2024.

Salary Information
- Salary and conditions will depend on the experience of the selected candidate as well as on her/his status (temporary staff or official).
- For temporary staff, salary starts at 2,670 EUR.
Selection Process
For retained candidates, written tests/video-recorded interviews are foreseen in end of July 2024 and panel interviews are planned for August 2024.
