The Robotics Department is looking for a collaborative, customer-service focused professional to provide financial management, oversight, and ethical stewardship of University and sponsor funds for an assigned group of faculty members. Robotics is growing, and as a member of our team you will have the chance to grow along with us. Much of this work is deadline-driven, so you identify and resolve problems with an eye to minimizing delays. You exercise discretion, work proactively to anticipate challenges, and provide thoughtful customer service. You will report to the Unit Administrator and collaborate with a team of three other staff working in research administration.

  • Coordinate administrative aspects of proposal submission (pre-award)
  • Provide financial management, oversight, and recommendations to assigned faculty funding portfolios (post-award)
  • Review and monitor financial transactions for appropriateness and allowability.
  • Collaborate on non-supervision human resources administrative tasks that are related to post-award project management, such as approving timesheets and recommending faculty and student appointments.
  • Provide some general administrative support to an assigned group of faculty and serve as a back-up for other Robotics research administrators
  • Intermediate level:  Bachelor degree and 3 – 5 years of grant and contract experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Associate level: Bachelor degree and 1 – 3 years of grant and contract experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1 year of experience in research administration, project management, fellowship/financial aid processing, customer service, or accounting
  • 1 year of experience working with tight regulations, compliance requirements, and deadlines
  • Ability to track and project finances
  • Familiarity with financial tracking or project management tools and software

This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.

Candidates who are not currently employed at the College of Engineering may be eligible for up to a $1500 sign-on bonus. College of Engineering candidates for whom this position represents a promotional opportunity may be eligible for up to a $1500 sign-on bonus.
