About us

Bodhi Global Analysis is a UK based international development research consultancy firm, with a subsidiary in Nairobi. At Bodhi we are committed to producing high-quality research, through academic rigour and objective analysis. We enable international development stakeholders to develop responsive interventions and effective outcomes through evidence-based strategy recommendations. Our clients range from intergovernmental organisations including the UN, (I)NGOs and non-profit organisations.

We were founded with the intent to integrate a gender and inclusion lens into all the work we do, thus ensuring we can support our clients to mainstream gender effectively into their work, as well as to be fully inclusive of other marginalised groups including those with disabilities and of diverse gender identities and sexual orientations. To this end, we adopt a gender-sensitive, intersectional approach to all our work, and frequently conduct gender mainstreaming training, gender mainstreaming strategy development, gender assessments using tools including the UNFPA-UNICEF Gender-Transformative Accelerator Tool and the CARE Gender Marker, and gender-sensitive political economy analyses and conflict analyses.

Bodhi also complies with feminist research principles through our participatory research approaches. We understand a feminist approach as the need to ensure equitable and dignified partnerships in our research and evaluations, to ensure local and national expertise guides our research from inception through to delivery and analysis. In so doing, we seek to redress traditional power imbalances between ‘researcher’ and ‘research subject’ in our work.

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Researcher to join our highly dynamic and growing Gender and Inclusion Team. The ideal candidate will be proactive and committed to producing sound, objective research and analysis, as well as contributing to evaluations with a significant gender component, gender mainstreaming strategy development and gender training for our clients. We are looking for expertise and experience in the following thematic areas: working and conducting research with people and children with disabilities; gender and climate; and gender and economic empowerment.

In the role, you will conduct research on recent developments in gender and inclusion. You will be involved in undertaking research across a range of other thematic issues, examining how they intersect with gender. You will also lead and support evaluations and reviews of gender and inclusion and other thematic programmes. You will be expected to occasionally travel to fragile and conflict-affected settings to deliver research activities, working closely with other researchers and national consultants.

The position is a full-time contract with a three-month probationary period

  • Are innovative and committed to working with our clients to support their efforts on gender mainstreaming and the inclusion of minorities in their work
