About the assignment
We’re looking for a Research Animal Health who can volunteer in a hybrid role both remotely (online) and in country, Vietnam for 13 months. Join the Australian Volunteers Program to contribute to sustainable development across South East Asia.
This assignment is part of the Health Security Corps, which is part of the Australian Government’s Health Security Initiative. Through the Australian Volunteers Program, Health Security Corps volunteers are deployed in non-clinical health roles to build the capacity of partner organisations to prevent, detect and control infectious disease threats across our Indo-Pacific region.
About the Partner Organisation:
The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) is an international agricultural research institute and works with partners worldwide to improve food security and nutrition and reduce poverty in developing countries through research for efficient, safe and sustainable use of livestock.
This volunteer assignment is important to ILRI Vietnam because the position holder would help build capacity for our local partners.
This will be a hybrid assignment with 2 months working part time remotely and then 11 months based in country working full time.
About the Position:
- You’ll be conducting research involved in animal health including zoonotic diseases, food safety, animal welfare and antimicrobial resistance under the overall umbrella of a One Health approach.
- You’ll need a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science, Animal Science, Animal health Economic, Public Health, Life Science, or a related field
- You’ll gain experience in contributing to animal welfare, internationally.
- Allowance: $1,996 – Allowance figure on a monthly basis. Remote volunteering: AUD $71/ month Hybrid assignment: Living allowance: AUD $1032/month Accommodation: AUD $964/month.
